Thank you for finding Muriwai Lodge.

Our Muriwai community was severely hit by Cyclone Gabrielle which caused considerable damage to Muriwai land and properties on the night of 12 February 2023. As a result, a significant number of properties were temporarily deemed unsafe by authorities. Unfortunately, although the Lodge building itself and Cabins 1 and 2 are undamaged, because of damage to the rest of the Lodge site and the threat of future slips of surrounding land, Muriwai Lodge was added to this group on 16 February.

As a result our site is 'red stickered' and we remain closed.  We are unable to reopen until Auckland council has completed its geotechnical and engineering assessments and determined it is safe to do so.  This work is underway but is taking a long time so we have blocked all booking availability for now until we know for sure when we can reopen.  

We will be updating our followers on this website and on our Facebook page as things change.

We are so grateful to all the people who have sent messages of support and offers of help and we are looking forward to hosting you again soon.
