Lose yourself in the gorgeous west coast sunsets as you relax on the outdoor deck or sink into the comfortable sofa and enjoy the peace of your surrounds.  Get a little more active and take a walk down through the forest to the beach and work up an appetite by exploring as much or as little of the 50km beach as you want…or delight in the swooping, soaring gannets up at the Gannet Colony at the south end of the beach between Muriwai and Maukatia Bay (sometimes called Māori Bay).
